Working in a furniture factory...what it entails

Updated: May 31, 2023

One of the things you have to know is that you have to bring your A game to work daily; more or less you work with a creative overdrive mindset. Furniture lovers always have a preference for certain types of furniture pieces and they are very clear minded about how they want to feel when seating on an occasional chair for example. The colour, texture, size and general feeling of owning a chair like that gives any furniture designer satisfaction.

Usually in a furniture factory, you have the product/CAD designers who research the types of products customers desire. This could take weeks or months depending on the size of the furniture factory. They determine the material type that customers like, the forecasting for how well the product will do in the market and even the return rate (if any).

We also have the the following teams: Wood working carpenters, upholsterers, sprayman, fitters, machinists and finishing carpenters. All in all, the process it takes to produce furniture pieces from a factory is very thorough but equally rewarding. To order locally made furniture pieces, contact www.unikkefurniture.com
